Mission: Dreamcatchers CSULB is the first pioneering chapter in the Long Beach area, that strives to bridge intergenerational and cultural gaps within the community. Our chapter branches off from the larger Hospice Dreamcatcher Foundation Inc. Our ultimate goal is to fulfill the final dreams of those faced with terminal illness. We aim to do so, by providing social support, cultural and age appropriate practice, breaking the stigmas  associated with age and/or death, and more by fulfilling final dreams.

Strategies: Closely partnering with local hospice agencies within the boundaries of Long Beach, to coordinate final dreams of those faced with terminal illness. Working alongside patient care staff such as social workers, nurses, case managers, and more to offer the best care to those we will be serving. Finally, to gather volunteers who are passionate, driven, eager, kind, and more to make final dreams come true.

Goals: The goals of Dreamcatchers CSULB includes fulfilling at least 2 dreams each school semester. Examples of possible dreams include: indoor picnics, spa days, coordinating dinners, sports game days, outings to the park or beach, boat rides, plane rides, and so much more. Each dream experience is driven by the uniqueness of each potential patient whom we will serve. Another one of our goals is to fundraise all year long. By raising enough money, we are able to fulfill dreams both simple and complex without funding issues.

Resources needed: To continuously promote the success of our non-profit chapter, we will be needing California State University student volunteers, or local volunteers who would be willing to sacrifice their time to support the cause. Monetary donations of any amount large or small would be highly appreciated as well, as the dreams we aim to fulfill are solely funded by our chapter alone.
